Preheat: oven to 350°
2 Cups packed brown sugar
1 3/4 Cups flour (rye, wheat, white etc�)
3 Cups quick-cooking rolled oats Cream: the brown sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla in the Bosch bowl. Switch to the dough hook and Blend in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir: in rolled oats and chocolate chips. Drop: by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake: in a 350° oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool: before removing from pan. Makes 5 dozen. Note: Nuts, raisins, carob chips, butterscotch chips, coconut, and or dried fruit may be substituted for the chocolate chips. Whole-wheat flour may be used in place of the rye flour. |
